My Fyrst Analysis
After completing the basic analysis, the next advanced step of My Fyrst analysis involves working in detail with the data accumulated over three months from your journaling. This period, encompassing 12 weeks, acts as a significant milestone, creating an aggregate flower with 12 petals, each representing bi-weekly data.
Step Three: Engaging in the Activity
The Active Mind Journal focuses on recognizing both positive and negative emotions and identifying their triggers. By mapping emotions and their triggers in the journal, you can better understand and manage them. Analyze each trigger to uncover its origin and impact on you.
Emotions are categorized in two ways based on triggers:
1. Effect-based – Whether the emotion is Negative or Positive.
2. Source-based – Understanding the reasons behind these emotions and their influence.
To delve deeper:
– For effect-based: Ask “How?” does this emotion manifest.
– For source-based: Inquire “Why?” and “When?” did it occur and determine if the source is internal or external.
Milestone – Analysis
For instance, if you frequently experienced a positive emotion represented by the color green in your bi-weekly journaling, you would color one of the milestone petals green and include the most common trigger associated with this emotion. Similarly, if in the following bi-weekly period, the predominant emotion was negative, symbolized by black, then you would color the next milestone petal black, noting the related trigger. This process is repeated for all 12 weeks, filling each milestone petal with the corresponding color and trigger from each bi-weekly period.
This approach provides a visual representation of your most prominent emotions and triggers over the three-month period. With each emotion and trigger quantifiable, you can now manage them using a specific grid. For example, if the emotion is positive (green) and associated with beneficial triggers, you could select from the following options to enhance and continue those positive experiences.
